Paul, Geraldine R. (15 AUG 1959)

The Holway Lutheran Church was the setting Saturday, Aug. 15, 1959, for the double wedding of Miss Geraldine Ruth Paul and Harvey B. Halverson, and of Miss Patricia Jo Paul and Wenwood L. Meier.

Parents of the couples are Mr. and Mrs. Henry Paul of Dorchester, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Halverson of Curtiss, and Mr. and Mrs. George Meier, also of Curtiss.

The Rev. Max Wilhelm officiated at the 1:00 o’clock ceremony.  The church was decorated with bouquets of gladioli.  Mrs. Clifford Paul was organist as Terry Brunner sang "O Perfect Love" and Dale Olson sang "The Lord’s Prayer."

The brides were dressed identically in floor length gowns of Chantilly lace and nylon tulle.  The bodices were styled by long sleeves and scalloped necklines trimmed with sequins.  A lace peplum came to a point in front and extended to the hemlines in the back.  They carried bouquets of red and white roses.

Miss Patricia Paul’s attendants were Miss Sharon Burgett, Curtiss, as maid of honor, and Miss Lola Meier, the groom’s sister of Ft. Sill, Okla., as bridesmaid.

They wore street length dresses of royal blue chiffon featuring neckline of draped pleats.

Mr. Halverson’s attendants were Richard Halverson of Curtiss as best man, and William Paul of Dorchester, groomsman.  Mr. Meier’s attendants were Gary Doberstein of Kentucky as best man, and Richard Paul of Portland, Ore., groomsman.  Danny Paul and Corliss Meier ushered.

Following the ceremony, a dinner was served in the church basement and the reception followed at the home of the brides’ parents.

Mrs. Halverson attended Taylor County Teachers College and is teaching in Holway District One School.  The couple is honeymooning in northern Wisconsin and Michigan.

Mr. Halverson is a graduate of Medford High School and is a clerk in Schmidt’s Clothing Store in Medford.  The couple will make their home at 341 National Avenue, Medford.

Mr. and Mrs. Meier attended Medford High School.  Mr. Meier is engaged in farming and the couple will make their home in the town of Holway.
