Hardrath, Sandra #2 (5 SEP 1959)

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church near Colby was the setting for the wedding Saturday of Miss Sandra Hardrath and Lawrence Fritz of Wausau.  Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Harley Hardrath of route 1, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), and Mr. and Mrs. Elton Fritz, route 2, Owen.

Summer flowers decorated the altar as the Rev. Howard Timmerman officiated and Barbara Sommer sang "O Perfect Love" and "The Lord’s Prayer."  Mrs. Vernon Boss was organist.

The bride was given in marriage by her father.  She wore a floor length gown of embroidered tulle over nylon net and white faille taffeta.  The fitted bodice was styled by a scalloped Sabrina neckline trimmed with sequins, seed pearls and long sleeves.  The bouffant overskirt of embroidered tulle was studded with sequins and she carried a bouquet of pink and white roses and stephanotis.

Miss Susanne Hardrath was her sister’s maid of honor and the bridesmaids were Miss Salley Hardrath, Sheryl Hardrath and Reva Fritz, all of Owen.  They wore ballerina length dresses with matching stoles of light blue nylone sheer featuring tiny ruffles on the bodice and skirt with an embroidered lace midriff.  The maid of honor carried a bouquet of white gladioli, lily of the valley and blue pompom mums.  Other bridesmaids carried a similar bouquet of white gladioli, lily of the valley, blue mums and pink gladioli.

Flower girl was Lisa Larson of Marshfield and ring bearer was Gary Fritz.

Best man was Robert Bakke, Owen, and groomsmen were Gordon Alexander and Ross Fritz of Owen,a nd William Schuette of Unity.  Alden Hardrath and Edward Potocnik ushered.

Following the ceremony a reception was held in the church parlors for 300 guests.  Refreshments were served at the home of the bride’s parents after the reception and an evening dance was held at Kolby Park Pavilion.

The groom was graduated from owen-Withee Senior High School and is an electrician in Wausau.  The bride is a graduate of the same school and is a bookkeeper at First American State Bank.

After a wedding trip to Mackinac Island and Niagara Falls, the couple will make their home at 1309 Second St., Wausau.
