Martinson, Mena (7 JAN 1892 - 4 JUN 1960)

 

Funeral services were conducted for Mena Martinson at the Congregational Church Tuesday, June 7th, with the Rev. Ralph Claybaugh officiating.  Interment was made at the Riverside Cemetery.

 

Shurleigh Grimes, Roy Gabriel, Ed Back, Julius Johnson, Clark Nissen and Harvey Weddig served as pallbearers.  Mrs. D. Morschek was organist and Clark Nissen rendered two vocal selections, "Abide With Me" and "Beyond the Sunset."

 

Miss Martinson was born at Badger Mills to Mathilda Ray and Peter Martinson on Jan. 7, 1892.  She received her education at the Owen Public School System and upon graduating from the Stanley High School she attended Stevens Point Normal School.  She held several positions in Owen at the Master Package Corp., and as a stenographer and bookkeeper for the J.S. Owen Lumber Co., Dr. Torrason, and also had been City Clerk and Treasurer.

 

She passed away Saturday, June 4, 1960, the cause of her death was due to coronary thrombosis, at a hospital in Madison.  She reached the age of 68.  Surviving her untimely death are five nieces and nephews.  Her parents, two brothers, Alfred and Marine Theodore, and two sisters, Josephine and Bertha preceded her in death.  Miss Martinson was not married.
