Szczech, Carol V. (2 JUL 1960)

A double ring ceremony with the Rev. Francis Disher, officiant, united in marriage Miss Carol V. Szczech and John F. Szymanski, Saturday morning at 10:00 o’clock in St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church, Thorp.

Parents of the bride and groom are Mr. and Mrs. Joseph J. Szczech, Thorp, and Mr. and Mrs. Felix J. Szymanski of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.).

The bride, coming before the altar with her father, was attired in a gown of white silk organza over white taffeta.  It was designed in princess style with long sleeves and a sweetheart neckline emphasized by Swiss organdy, rose motifs held in palce by sequins and seed pearls.  Similar rose motifs were interspersed on the full skirt.  Her cathedral train of silk organza over bridal pink taffeta was pleated at the back and held in place with silk organza roses.  Her fingertip veil fell from a tiara headpiece and she carried a bouquet of white roses and lily of the valley centered with two orchids in ivy leaves.

Miss Mary Ann Szczech, Thorp, the bride’s sister, maid of honor, and the groom’s sister, Miss Mary Ann Szymanski, Wausau, bridesmaid, appeared in the wedding party wearing street length dresses of white nylon with pink rose velveray spray over white taffeta.  They were fashioned with sweetheart necklines and short sleeves on molded bodices with pink taffeta bands at the waistline held by pink taffeta roses.  They wore matching picture hats and carried colonial arrangements of white carnations and pink rosebuds.

A white nylon chiffon over light pink taffeta dress was worn by the flower girl, Juliana Salwach of Marshfield.  She carried a basket of pink rosebuds and ivy leaves.  George Konieczny, the bride’s nephew of Waukesha, was ring bearer.

Mrs. George Konieczny of Waukesha designed and sewed her sister’s wedding dress, and the bride fashioned the dresses worn by the bridesmaids and flower girl.

The groom’s attendants were Ted Pietrzak of Cudahy, best man, and Leonard Gutowski of Stanley, groomsman.

A dinner was served to wedding guests following the church ceremony, and a reception at 6:00 o’clock were in St. Hedwig’s Parish Hall.
