Marcott, Adele #2 (13 AUG 1960)

Miss Adele June Marcott and David E. Hawks were married Saturday afternoon in the Evangelical United Brethren Church at Dorchester, and are now on a honeymoon to Yellowstone National Park and western states.  On their return they will make their home in Abbotsford.

Parents of the bridal couples are Mr. and Mrs. LaVern C. Marcott of Abbotsford and Mr. and Mrs. Allen Hawks, Curtiss.

The Rev. William Schreffler, a brother-in-law of the groom, presided at the 3:00 o’clock marriage services.  Organist was Paulette Zimmerman and Irene Warner sang "Because."  Baskets of cut flowers were placed on the church altar.

Miss Marcott, wearing a floor length gown of embroidered nylon organdy over faille taffeta, proceeded to the altar on the arm of her father.  The fitted bodice of the dress was styled by a scalloped Sabrina neckline and cap sleeves.  The full four tiered skirt of embroidered nylon organdy over faille taffeta nylon net fell into a brush train.  Her veil of imported English silk illusion in fingertip length was secured to a pearl crown with rhinestone and pearl sprays.  Yellow roses, white pompons, and Stephanotis were arranged in the heart shaped bouquet she carried.

Miss Janice Marcott of Abbotsford was maid of honor at her sister’s wedding.  She wore a ballerina length dress of white nylon sheer over yellow taffeta with a yellow and green flowered embroidered border on the skirt which was accented with a large green satin bow at the back.  Her matching headpiece held a circular face veil and she carried a fan with yellow carnations and white pompons arranged on it.

Flower girl, Deanna Hawks, Marshfield, a niece of the groom, wore a dress similarly styled and also carried an arrangement of flowers on a fan.

Rodney Hawks, Curtiss, attended his brother as best man.  Ushers were Fred Wilson and John Pfalzgraf, Abbotsford.

A buffet supper and reception were held at the Abbotsford High School gymnasium at 5:00.

Mrs. Hawks is a graduate of Abbotsford High School and has been employed in the office of Packaging Corp. of America at Colby.  Her husband graduated from Dorchester High School and is employed by Medo-Farms Dairy, Abbotsford.
