Richard "Dick" James Shaw, 69, of Neillsville died Monday, April 25, 2011, at his farm as a result of a farming accident.

Richard "Dick" Shaw was born Dec. 21, 1941, the son of Francis and Leona (Kuborn) Shaw in Yankton, S. D. After his mother’s death in 1942, his father married Margaret (Koupal) Shaw.  He was educated at Tabor Public Schools. The family moved to Wisconsin in 1958 where Richard met and married the love of his life, Bonnie (Lemons) Shaw, Aug. 17, 1961.

He worked several farming jobs, including Mullins Cheese, Granton and Neillsville Milk Products and Bob Shaw Heating & Cooling, Neillsville, until he purchased a farm of his own in 1971.  He and Bonnie farmed side-by-side until he retired from dairy farming in 2002. They were currently doing custom heifer-raising on the home farm, and he was employed with Mid-State Truck, Marshfield.

He was a devoted husband to his wife Bonnie of 49 years, a great dad and a fun, loveable Grandpa.  He loved his family, the outdoors and country life.  He was an avid hunter, enjoyed watching sports games and NASCAR and liked playing a good game of dirty clubs, sheepshead or Euchre.

Richard was a member of the United Church of Christ, and he served as supervisor for the Town of Weston for several years.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; children, Gregory (Sarah) Shaw of Greenwood, Anthony (Brenda) Shaw of Marshfield, Lana (Jeffrey) Willers of Waunakee, Jennifer (Josh) Cline of Spencer and Ryan (Bobbie Jo) Shaw of Neillsville; 13 grandchildren, Sophia, Brooke and Ethan Shaw, Kayla (Matt) Flink, Leah and Mara Shaw, Keegan and Kaylee Willers, Devon, Dylan and Dominick Cline, Madelyn Jo Shaw; and a great-grandchild, Cashton Flink.  He is further survived by six brothers, Donald (Shirley) Shaw of Roswell, NM, Duane (Lill) Shaw of San Antonio,  TX, Leonard (Myrna) Shaw of Mukwonago and Dan (Jean) Shaw of Parker, CO; a sister, Eleanor Mazourek of Neillsville; his mother-in-law, Edna Lemons of Neillsville; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
