DIED.

Annette Priest, aged 18 years, died at the residence of her parents, in this village, about 9 o'clock last Saturday evening of scarlet fever after an illness of about three days.  "Nettie" as she was familiarly known was an amiable and beautiful young lady and her sudden decease has cast a gloom over the entire community.  The blow falls especially heavy on the parents, who have but recently buried a grand-child, and they, with the other relatives, have the sympathy of all who know them.

There is a voice that whispers lowly.

Down within this heart of mine,

Where emotions the most holy

Ever make their sacred shrine

And it tells a thrilling story

Of the great Redeemer's love,

And the all-bewildering glory

Of the better land above.

O, this life, with all its sorrow,

Hasteneth onward to a close,

In a few more brief tomorrows,

Will have ended all our woes,

Then o'er death the part immortal,

Shall sublimely rise and soar,

O'er the star resplendent portal

There to dwell for evermore.
