Miss Irene O’Connell, 75, of Greenwood, died March 30, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, where she was admitted March 18.

Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenwood with the Rev. Edward Hartung officiating. Burial was made that same day at Fox Lake.  Pallbearers were her four nephews and two grand-nephews: Charles, Albert, James, Gerald, Dennis and Bruce Neuenfeldt.

Miss O’Connell, daughter of John and Mary (Hillier) O’Connell, was born November 10, 1886, in Warrens. She was graduated from Fox Lake High School in 1905.  She came to Greenwood from Marshfield in 1922. While in Marshfield she was a saleslady in a department store and in Greenwood she was associated with the Greenwood Gleaner, until her health failed.
