Terrell, George H. (22 FEB 1877 - 18 SEP 1942)

George Henry Terrell was born on the home farm in what was then a prt of the town of Garden Valley, now Cleveland, in Jackson County, Feb. 22, 1877, and passed away quite suddenly at the Krohn Hospital in Black River Falls, after a very short illness on Friday evening, Sept. 18, 1942, at the age of 65 years, 6 months and 26 days.

He was the youngest son of George and Frances (Sperry) Terrell, and spent all of his life on the farm where he was born.  Handicapped from birth, he was of a pleasant jovial disposition, never complaining, but always doing his work on the farm and helping others to make the path of life easier.  About five weeks ago he suffered an accident, which resulted in a wrist fracture and other injuries, but he did not even then shirk his share of the home tasks.  Mr. Terrell had many friends who sincerely mourn his sudden death.

His parents and five brothers and sisters preceded him in death.  Surviving are his sister, Mrs. Lois Dunn, with whom he made his home on the farm, and one brother, Orren Terrell of Alma Center, besides a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in this village (Humbird, Clark Co., Wis.), on Monday, Sept. 21st, at 2:00 p.m., the pastor, Rev. C. H. Pierstorff, officiating, using as his text I Sam. 20:3, "There is but a step between me and death."  Rev. and Mrs. Pierstorff, accompanied by Miss Edith Simons, sang, by request, "We are Going Down the Valley," "Jesus Keep me Near the Cross," and "Beautiful Isle."  A great profusion of beautiful fall flowers were an expression of sympathy from friends.  Burial was in Houghtonburg Cemetery.
