Garbisch, Navy Seaman Theresa A.(Basic Training - 2011)

Navy Seaman Theresa A. Garbisch - the daughter of Denise L. Taylor of Warner Robins, GA, and Scott D. Garbisch of Granton - recently completed U. S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, IL.

During the eight week program, Garbisch completed a variety of t raining, including classroom study and practical instruction about naval customs, first-aid, firefighting, water safety and survival and shipboard and aircraft safety. Physical fitness was also emphasized.

Boot camp’s capstone event is "Battle Stations," an exercise giving recruits the skills and confidence they need to succeed in the fleet.

"Battle Stations" is designed to galvanize in each recruit the basic warrior attributes of sacrifice, dedication, teamwork and endurance through the practical application of basic Navy skills and the core values of honor, courage and commitment. Its distinctly "Navy" flavor was designed to take into account what it means to be a sailor.

Garbisch graduated from Northside High School in Warner Robins, GA, in 2000.
