In 1878 she was united in holy wedlock to August Zerbel.  The family made their home in Sauk County until 1901, when they located on a farm near Humbird (Clark Co., Wis.).  In 1915 they disposed of their farm and located in the village of Humbird, where they spent their declining years.

In 1928 Mr. and Mrs. Zerbel celebrated their golden wedding anniversary, and shortly thereafter Mr. Zerbel departed for his Eternal Home.

Mrs. Zerbel was a lifelong member of the evangelical Church and those who knew her well will long remember her devotion to Christ and His church.

Four children survive her.  They are Mary (Mrs. C.B. Joos) of Jamestown, N.D.; Emma (Mrs. P.A. Hemmy) of Humbird; and Ida and Robert, also of Humbird.  She also leaves twelve grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Tuesday, Sept. 14, short funeral services were held at the home at 10:00 a.m., conducted by the Rev. E.W. Marks of the Evangelical Church of Augusta.  Mrs. Willard Waters and Mrs. William Theiler rendered the song service.  Her grandsons, Wallace Hemmy and wife of Mondovi, and Howard Hemmy and wife of Melrose, came to attend the home rites, and also many relatives and friends attended.

Following the services here the funeral party journeyed to Denzer, Sauk Co., where a services was held in the church, also conducted by Rev. Marks, and the remains were laid to rest in the Denzer Cemetery by the side of her husband.
