Neillsville High School (60 Year Reunion - 1962)

Of the eight graduates of the Neillsville High School class of 1902, seven are still living. The eighth, Orville Stevens, has been reported as being killed in an accident recently.

Arthur J. Haugen, reminiscing about the class of 60 years ago, informs us that the late Rev. George W. Longenecker handed the diplomas to the class of eight members.  Commencement was held in the old grade school building on the second floor.  The late L. W. Wood was principal.

The other six members of the class include: Mrs. Blanche (Crocker) Zimmerman, Clara Tragsdorf of Madison, Robert Ritche of Iowa, Bessie (Frantz) Roethe of Fennimore, Alice and Marian Huntley of Oregon.

Haugen says, "Of the eight class members, five lived within 200 feet of each other.  The Huntleys in the present Ted Mech home on Clay Street, Haugen lived in the next house to the north, Blanche Zimmerman across the street, and Clara Tragsdorf joined the Haugen property on the east."
