Ehlert, Helena #2 (16 DEC 1944)

At 2:30 o’clock on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 16th, 1944, the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Greub Sr., was the scene of a happy wedding, when their son Fred was united in marriage with Mrs. Helena Ehlert of Marion, Wis.

The Rev. N.J. Dechant read the impressive double ring ceremony, in the presence of the immediate family only.  The couple was attended by the groom’s brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Greub Jr.

The bride was dressed in navy blue with white accessories and wore a corsage of chrysanthemums and roses.  Her attendant wore navy blue also and a similar corsage.  The men wore conventional dark suits with carnation boutonnieres.

Fourteen guests sat down to the wedding supper.  Those attending from away were Wm. Greub and Miss Otillia Bindschaedler of Monroe, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Greub and daughter Esther, Greenwood.

In the evening they were serenaded in the usual manner by their friends, and the community joins in wishing them much happiness.
