Johnson, Aaron T. (10 DEC 1866 - 1 JAN 1945)

 

Aaron Theodore Johnson was born in Alensos, Sweden, Dec. 10, 1866, and passed away at his home in Cleveland, Jan. 1, 1945, at the age of 78 years and 21 days.

 

In 1887, when 21 years of age, he came to the States, working a few years in Chicago, and then went to Lake Stay, Lyon Co., Minn., where he started farming.  There he remained for several years.

 

He sold his holdings in Lyon County and came to the town of Cleveland, Jackson County, where he had purchased the Sheffield farm, moving onto it on Thanksgiving Day, 1906.  This has since been his home.

 

On Nov. 11, 1889 he was married to Miss Tena Willman at Lake Stay, Minn.  She passed away at their home in Cleveland, Feb. 14, 1932.  On March 29, 1936 Mrs. Johnson was united in marriage with Mrs. Annie Hickox, who survives him, with one foster daughter, Agnes.  There are three nieces and one nephew in Chicago; three nephews, Robert, Chester, and George Willman, and one niece, Mrs. Florence Bigelow of Lake City, Minn.; besides other relatives.

 

Funeral services will be held at the Methodist Church in this village at 2:00 o’clock Friday afternoon.  Burial will be in Mentor Cemetery.
