Mandel, Marcia (Marriage - 11 August 1962)

Nuptial vows were repeated August 11, uniting in marriage Miss Marcia Mandel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Mandel, Rt.2, Colby, and Duane R. Riedel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerhardt Riedel of Colby.  The Rev. Carl Serr performed the ceremony in the United Church of Christ in Colby.

For her wedding the bride was attired in a traditional bridal gown of silk faced peau de soie lined with pellon and fashioned with a train. The Basque bodice with a V at the center waistline was styled with a bateau neckline embroidered with pearl bead motifs on the front, the back sprinkled with pearls and a border of beads and pearls.

The very full bridal veil of English silk illusion was attached to a taffeta pill box crown sprinkled on top with pearls and orange blossom sprays on the brim. The crescent bridal bouquet was made up of yellow roses and white stephanotis.

Miss Janet Lemmer, Rothschild, was maid of honor, and bridesmaids were Mrs. Jerome Michlig, Rt. 2, Colby, and Mrs. Rodney Riedel, Grafton.

The groom’s attendants were Kenneth Laube, Colby, bestman, and Jerome Michlig and Rodney Riedel, groomsmen.  Ushers wee Gene Lemmer and NOrbe4rt Riedel.

The new Mrs. Riedel was graduated in June of this year from Wisconsin State College in Whitewater, and will teach in the Auburndale High School.  Mr. Riedel is elementary supervisor of the Marshfield Public Schools.  He is a graduate of Taylor County Normal at Medford and Wisconsin State College in Stevens Point.  Presently he is doing graduate work at the state college in Superior.

Mr. Riedel is a former eighth grade teacher of the Neillsville School and was the principal of the Southside grade school building during his teaching career in Neillsville.
