Left to right: Carl W. Bartsch (1892-1986), Carl Bartsch, Sr. (1865-1908), Elisabeth (Kutsche) Bartsch (1860-1943), Oscar Bartsch (1900-1986), Fred E. Bartsch (1898-1987), Henry Bartsch (1894-1914), Elisabeth Bartsch (1835-?).

Two of their children are not shown: Louisa Bartsch (Lizzie, 1890-?) and Herman C. Bartsch (1891-1976).

Carl Bartsch Homestead

 

Carl Bartsch (22 Dec. 1865 - 24 Nov.1908) came to the U.S. from Germany in 1891 (at age 25-26), settling on a farm in Section 32 in the town of Fremont, Clark County, Wis.

Carl's wife, Elisabeth (12 April 1860 - 21 Oct. 1943) was born at Schtantan (Stettin, Pomerania; now Szczecin, Poland). She was the daughter of Gottlieb and Elizabeth Kutsche.

Children: Louisa (Lizzie, 1890-?), Herman C. (1891-1976), Carl W. (1892-1986), William Henry (1894-1914), Fred E.(1898-1987), Oscar (1900-1986).

Carl and Elizabeth Bartsch are buried at the Zion Missouri Lutheran Church Cemetary at Granton.
