Louis, Mary Ann (27 April 1890 - 3 September 1962)

 

Mrs. Mary Louis, 72, a former resident of the Cannonville area, died September 3, in the hospital of the Grand Army Home in King.  A resident of the home since 1943, she entered the hospital two days prior to her death. She had recently visited at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Allen Crockett, near Neillsville.

 

Funeral services were conducted from St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Milladore on September 6.  Burial was made in the parish cemetery.

 

Mrs. Louis, the former Mary Ann Konrath, daughter of the late Herman and Adeline (Schaenzer) Konrath, was born in Montrose, Nebr., April 27, 1890.  She came to Wisconsin with her parents in a covered wagon and received her elementary education in Appleton.  On February 19, 1917, she was married to Herman Grzanna, who died in 1918. She came, with her children, mother, sisters and brothers to the Neillsville area, settling on a farm in the town of Washburn.

 

On May 17, 1929, she was married to August Louis, who died in 1940.  They had farmed near Pittsville, Vesper, Rudolph and Milladore. After the death of Mr. Louis she entered the home at King.

 

She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Norman (Mary Ann) Opelt, Madison; Mrs. Allen (Barbara) Crockett, Neillsville; Mrs. Donald (Cecelia) Kazel, Milwaukee; Mrs. James (Adeline) Mussa, Menomonee Falls; Mrs. Christine Heinze, Germantown; and George Louis of New Berlin. Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters: John Konrath, Neillsville; Herman Konrath, Milwaukee; Mrs. William (Elizabeth) Manthey, Portage; Mrs. Fred (Clara) Filesthaler and Mrs. Martin (Adeline) Birchiem, Hankinson, N. D.
