Meier, Marilyn Jane (Marriage - 15 September 1962)

St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville was the scene Saturday afternoon of the wedding of Miss Marilyn Jane Meier, Neillsville, and Kenneth Karl Krause, Menomonee Falls, whose parents are Mr. and Mrs. Louis Meier, Rt. 3, Neillsville and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Krause of Granton, Rt. 2. The Rev. Norman Lindloff performed the ceremony.

The bride was attired in a white floor length gown of silk organza over taffeta.  The full hoop skirt featured Chantilly lace, garland motifs and accented by organza bows, and its hem was defined with a scalloped lace border.  The Basque bodice was styled with a Chantilly lace and jewel-trimmed Sabrina neckline.  Long, tapered sleeves came to a point at her wrists.  Her headpiece consisted of seed pearl-trimmed organza roses, to which was secured bouffant French illusion veiling. The bridal bouquet was a cascade bouquet of yellow roses and white pompon chrysanthemums, with accents of ivy.

Her attendants, Miss Irene Wucki of Neillsville, as maid of honor, and Miss Sandra Kurth of Granton, bridesmaid, wore bolero jackets with three-quarter-length sleeves that  topped their romance blue street-length dresses of pure silk organza. The full, gathered skirts were styled with smooth fitting cummerbunds. Their head- pieces were crowns of pearls and crystals, to which face veils were attached.  They carried bouquets of yellow Fiji Chrysanthemums in a cascade style.

Bestman was Roger Krause of Granton; and groomsman was Kenneth Meier of Neillsville.  Ushers were Wallace Krause, Menomonee Falls, and David Meier, Neillsville.

The day’s events included a reception for 150 guests in the church hall.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Krause are graduates of Neillsville High School, with the classes of 1955 and 1961, respectively.

Mrs. Krause has been employed in the First National Bank in Neillsville. The groom does construction work in Milwaukee.  They will make their home at Rt. 1, Colgate.
