Humbird (27 September 1962)

 

Mrs. C. W. Hart and guest, Mrs. Gertie Gordon, of Orange, Calif., were dinner guests Tuesday of Mr. and Mrs. James Creviston of Fairchild.

 

Mrs. Ann Perry and Mrs. Jennie Bone of Evansville were recent visitors in the Harry Hart home.  Mr. and Mrs. Orrin Wold, Gordon and John of Disco, Mrs. Wold and David of Black River Falls, and Mrs. Hazel Field of Hatfield were dinner guests Sunday in the Henry Laffe home.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Walker and mother, Mrs. Jessie Walker, visited Sunday in the Jerry Koranda home at Neillsville.  Grandma Walker remained for a longer visit.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Wally Wallace of Neillsville spent Sunday evening at the Danny Wallace home.

 

Saturday, Mr. and Mrs. Cullen Dignin and her sister, Mrs. Matti Ripenburg, drove to Mondovi, where they visited a cousin, Mrs. Gibson, then went to Eau Claire to visit their cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Mishler and Mrs. Erickson.

 

Mrs. Elda Van Winters and Mrs. Tom Sliter of Merrillan, and Mrs. Jack Gephart, drove to (blank) Ia., Tuesday.  Wednesday they were overnight guests in Readstown.  They came home Thursday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Cullen Dignin and her sister, Mrs. Matti Ripenburg, drove to Ladysmith Monday to visit relatives.  On their return Tuesday they brought Laura Dignin home from her visit in the home of Mrs. Lucille Jacobs.

 

Harry Hart drove to Mondovi Thursday, taking his sisters, Ann Perry and Jennie Bone, Mrs. Gertie Gordon and

Mrs. Bertha Hart, there to call on their friend of 65 years ago, Mrs. Mabel Snyder Hart. She is at present in the Mondovi hospital.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Terrell were in Black River Falls Friday evening to see Mrs. Terrell, who is in the hospital.  Mrs. Terrell now has a heart condition.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Gearing and children drove to Waverly, Ia. Sunday to be guests of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Kuykendahl.  On their way home they called on the Virgil Denks at Decorah, Ia.

 

Let’s not forget the Thrift, Lunch and Bake sale, October 13, in the old hardware building commencing at 10 a.m.

 

The W. S. C. S. will meet today (Thursday) at 2 p.m. in the church parlors.  Mrs. Bernice Bailey is the hostess.
