Ogorzalek, Ellen Ione (1 December 1932 - 15 June 2011)

 

Ellen I. Ogorzalek, age 78, of Lublin, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at the Gilman Care Center in Gilman. Funeral Services were held on Monday June 20, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at the Thorp Funeral Home.  Rev. Marion Talaga officiated and burial followed in St. Mary’s Polish National Catholic Cemetery in Lublin.  Visitation was held on Sunday, June 19, 2011, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Thorp Funeral Home and on Monday, from 1:00 p.m. until time of service, also at the funeral home.

 

Ellen Ione Taylor was born on December 1, 1932, in the Town of Aurora, rural Gilman, to Frank and Hazel (McCartney) Taylor and was educated at area schools.  She was united in marriage to John V. Ogorzalek on April 26, 1949, in Thorp, WI.  They farmed in rural Lublin for 30-plus years, until retiring in 1980 and building their home in the Town of Ford. She resided there until entering the Gilman Care Center in November 2010.  In her spare time, Ellen loved gardening, growing flowers, visiting friends and especially loved being with her grandchildren.

 

She is survived by her husband, John, of Lublin; five children: Roger of Lublin, Jean Ogorzalek of Chicago, IL, Joseph (Debra) of Lublin, Russell (Mary) of Medford, and David of Lublin; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters; Zenita Kowalczyk of Altoona and Janet (Elmer) Nelson of Chetek.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters in infancy; one grandson, Jonathan Ogorzalek; one sister, Cora Gozy; and two brothers: Warren and Burdette Taylor.
