Prominent Colby Merchant Dies suddenly Sunday Afternoon

A. F. Zillmer, popular merchant of Colby, died suddenly Sunday afternoon following a heart attack suffered while walking about the home.

Mr. Zillmer was born in the town of Dupont, Waupaca County and was fifty-two years of age.

He established the store in Colby in 1917 and in 1920 moved to Colby from New London, where he had previously been in business.

Tuesday afternoon, he entire business section of Colby was closed in honor of Mr. Zillmer, and an unusually large number of friends from Colby and the surrounding community attended the funeral service conducted by the Rev. O. Hoffman.

Immediately after the service the remains were taken to New London where another service was held Wednesday and interment was made in Oakwood cemetery at Weyauwega.

He was married April 26, 1911 to Miss Emma Bauer of Weyauwega, who survives him. He also leaves a brother Edward and a sister Mrs. Martha Josie, both of New London.
