Scheffer, Anita (7 AUG 1946)

Miss Anita Scheffer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank J. Scheffer, and Mr. Louis Durst, son of Mrs. Lawrence Durst of Spring Green, were united in marriage on Wednesday morning, Aug. 7th, 1946, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Fairview, at 9:00 o’clock.  A cousin of the bride, Rev. Roman Ludwig of New Rockford, N.D., officiated at the double ring ceremony.

The bride was given in marriage by her father.  Miss Mary Scholter, Milwaukee, sang the nuptial High Mass, accompanied on the organ by Clarence Ludwig, Rice Lake, both cousins of the bride.

The bride wore a gown of white net over taffeta with a bodice of lace and fingertip veil.  She carried a bouquet of white gladiolas and pink roses.  Miss Marian Scheffer, Milwaukee, sister of the bride, and Miss Caroline Durst, Keyesville, sister of the groom, were bridesmaids.  They were dressed in pink net over taffeta, carrying colonial bouquets.

Attendants for the groom were Mr. Paul Durst, Spring Green, brother of the groom, and Mr. Francis Scheffer, brother of the bride.

Dinner was served to fifty guests at the home of the bride’s parents.  Late in the afternoon the young couple left for a week’s honeymoon in northern Wisconsin.  Upon their return they will make their home on a farm near Spring Green.
