Barton, Albert (6 August 1877 - 27 October 1962)

 

A requiem high mass was read Tuesday morning for Albert Barton, 85, of Neillsville, who died October 27, at a hospital in Minneapolis, Minn., of complications. The Rev. Fr. Bernard T. Kelly officiated at the mass in St. Mary’s Catholic Church here.  Burial was made in the parish cemetery.

 

Albert Barton was the son of the late Joseph and Azelda (Bruin) Barton and was born August 6, 1877 in Canada. The family came to Clark County when he was a small child.  On October 24, 1911, he was married to the former Agnes Prock in Neillsville. They resided on a farm in the Town of Weston until 1945, when he retired and they moved to Neillsville.

 

Mr. Barton served as a member of the Mound School board for several years and as assessor for the Town of Weston.

 

He is survived by his wife and the following children: Eugene of Wayzata, Minn.; Sylvester of St. Paul, Minn.; Mrs. Frank (Josephine) Wester, of Coeur d’Alene, Ida.; Mrs. Victoria Derousseau of Chicago, Ill., and Mrs. Bruno (Louisa) Bush, Chicago.  A brother Arthur and a sister, Mrs. Rose Schiller, of Neillsville, also survive.

 

A general rosary service was said Monday evening at the Bergemann Funeral Home.

 

Pallbearers were: Oscar Christopherson, William Hughes, Herman and William North, Harold Prock and William Schwellenbach.

 

People from away here for the rites were: Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Barton and daughters, of Wayzata, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Barton and daughter of St. Paul, Minn.; Mrs. Frank Wester of Coeur d’Alene, Ida.; Mrs. Victoria Derousseau, Mr. and Mrs. Bruno Bush and Miss Donna Groth all of Chicago, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. James McComb, Mrs. Leslie McGray, and Mrs. Frank Breyen of Minneapolis, Minn.

Neillsville – Albert Barton, 85, Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.), died Saturday at a hospital in Minneapolis.

He is survived by his wife Agnes; two sons, Eugene of Wayzata, Minn., and Sylvester, St. Paul; three daughters, Mrs. Frank Wester of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; Victoria, Mrs. Ada Derousseau, and Mrs. Bruno Bush, all of Chicago; a brother, Arthur, Neillsville; and a sister, Mrs. Rose Schiller, Neillsville.
