Miller, Ludwig #2 (18 MAY 1866 - 1 APR 1947)

Ludwig Miller was born May 18, 1866, at Oberammergau, Germany, and passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Louis Kelsh, in Milwaukee, April 1, 1947, at the age of 80 years, 10 months and 18 days.

His sudden death was a shock to his family.  He had apparently been ill with the flue, but complications developed which caused his death.

Mr. Miller united in marriage with Ursula Burkhardt, and to this union were born six children, one of who preceded him in death in 1920.

They came to America in June 1899, and lived in Ellinwood, Kansas one year.  From there they went to Rib Lake, Wis.  In 1908 they purchased the farm near Humbird (Clark Co., Wis.), which was their home until 1919, when they moved to Pennsylvania, returning to their farm near Humbird in 1922.  They resided a few years on the farm and then retired and moved into the village.  This was their home until the death of Mrs. Miller in September 1944.  Since then he had made his home with his daughter in Milwaukee.

Funeral services were held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Fairview, at 11 o’clock Saturday morning, April 5th, the Rev. Joseph L. Brake officiating.  Burial was in the cemetery at the church.  Pallbearers were friends, all of Humbird: Moritz Kretschmer, Ervin Kelsh, Jos. Trader, Fred Christen, J. Art Johnson, and Geo. Mueller.  The services were attended by relatives and friends.  The floral tributes were many and beautiful.

Left to mourn his death are his sons Frank of Roselle, Ill., Henry of Pennsylvania, Fred of Merrillan, Matt of Milwaukee, and one daughter, Walla, Mrs. Louis Kelsh of Milwaukee; also fifteen grandchildren.
