Lastofka, Rose (1 JUL 1947)

A very pretty marriage ceremony was performed by Father Anibas in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, at Alma Center, on July 1st, 1947, at 9:00 a.m., when Miss Rose Lastofka became the bride of Francis Michels.

The bride wore a long white satin gown and long white veil.  She carried a bouquet of American Beauty roses.  Her attendants, Miss Alice Michels of Lake City, Minn., a cousin of the groom, and Mrs. Sheldon Laffe of Taylor, sister of the bride, wore silver flecked blue tulle and blue veil and carried bouquets of tea roses.

The groom wore blue, with an American rose boutonniere.  He was attended by his cousin, Leo Esser of Alma Center, and Sheldon Laffe of Taylor; brother-in-law of the bride.  They also wore blue, with tea rose boutonnieres.

The bride is a daughter of Mrs. Clara Lastofka of Minneapolis.  She is a graduate of Humbird High School, class of ’41, and has since been employed as a secretary for the King Midas Flour Exchange in Minneapolis.  The groom is a son of Mrs. Emma Michels of Alma Center, and is a graduate of Alma Center High School.  He served overseas two years in the U.S. Army.  Since his return he has been operating a farm south of the village (Humbird, Clark Co., Wis.).

A reception was held at the groom’s home after the ceremony, to relatives, and a dancing party was given at Hatfield for relatives and friends in the evening.

Mr. and Mrs. Michels left on a two week wedding trip.
