Hoffmann, Dianne Marie (Marriage - 15 December 1962)

Nuptial vows were repeated Saturday evening by Miss Dianne Marie Hoffmann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hoffmann of Neillsville and Phillip Eugene Thompson of Rockford, Ill, son of Mr. and Mrs. Forest Thompson, also of Neillsville., in St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville.  The Rev. Norman Lindloff officiated at a double ring ceremony in a candlelight service.  Candelabra and red poinsettias adorned the altar.

Mr. Hoffmann gave his daughter in marriage. She chose a white Lyons chiffon velvet gown, styled with a floor length bouffant skirt.  Her princess waist was fashioned with a V-neckline and long, tapered sleeves that came to a point at the wrist. She carried a white Bible topped with a white orchid surrounded by stephanotis and streamers.

The brides attendants were Mary Sue Hoffmann, maid of honor; and Miss Luann Tews of Eau Claire, Mrs. Norman Thompson of Rockford, Ill., and Mrs. Lewis Hoffmann of Janesville, as bridesmaids.  They were attired in dark green chiffon velvet styled as that of the bride.  They carried white muffs with red garnet roses and holly.

Charles Thompson of Minneapolis, Minn., was best man. Groomsmen were William Zank, Neillsville, Norman Thompson of Rockford, and Lewis Hoffmann of Janesville.  Ronald Henning and Richard Hoffmann ushered.

"The Lord’s Prayer" and "the Wedding Prayer" were sung by Kendall Smith.

A reception for 150 guests was held in the Lutheran church, with a dance following in the American Legion Hall.

Mrs. Thompson is a graduate of Neillsville High School and of a beauty culture school in Eau Claire. She has been employed in a local beauty shop.  Mr. Thompson also is a graduate of Neillsville High School, is a cadet in the Rockford Police Department.

They are on a wedding trip to southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois.  Mr. and Mrs. Thompson will make Rockford their home.
