Wasserberger, Ida (4 November 1872 - 21 December 1962)

 

Mrs. Ida Wasserberger, 90, died December 21 at her home at 532 West Street, Neillsville.  Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. Norman Lindloff officiated.  Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

 

Mrs. Wasserberger was born November 4, 1872, in Silverberg, Germany.  Her parents were the late Herman and Augusta (Scheel) Hoffman.  She received her education in Germany and at the age of 18 accompanied her parents to the United States. They located on a farm in the Globe area.

 

On February 10, 1896, she was married to John Wasserberger in Neillsville. They resided in the city since her marriage. Mr. Wasserberger died in 1916.

 

She is survived by three children: George of Pontiac, Mich.; Mrs. Lillian Severson and Harry Wasserberger, both of Neillsville; also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Mary Kalsow of Neillsville, Mrs. Augusta Storm of Sheboygan, and Mrs. Helen Gell of Marengo Valley, Calif.; a brother, Herman Hoffman of San Fernando, Calif.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

 

She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.

 

The Georgas Funeral Home made the funeral arrangements.

 

Pallbearers were: William F. Hoffman, Edwin Sternitzky, Herman Belter, Leo Wasserburger, Carl Kessler and Carl Storm.  "Be Still My Soul" and "Abide O’ Dearest Jesus" were sung by Robert Mitte accompanied by Victor Lehman.

 

People coming from away for the service were: Mr. and Mrs. George Wasserberger of Pontiac, Mich.; Mrs. Fala Gloff and daughter, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Sternitzky, and Carl Storm, of Granton; Herman Belter of Chili and Mrs. Millard Chadwick, Greenwood.
