Lindner, Gertrude (?-04 SEPT 1956)

 

A Solemn Requiem High Mass was read Friday morning at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Greenwood for Mrs. Matthew Lindner, 66, route 2, Loyal, who died September 4 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. Death followed a heart attack.

 

Officiating at the final rites were the Rev. Philip Scherer, Chicago, the Rev. Edward Hartung, local pastor, and the Rev. Beno. Pallbearers were Carl Lindner, Donald Lindner, Andrew Lindner Jr., Herbert Lindner, Donald Bushman and Herbert Schmitz.

 

Burial followed in the parish cemetery. Among those present from out of town for the services were Matthew Scherer, Mr. and Mrs. William Kaspar and family, Chicago; Albert Larson and son, Port Byron, Ill.; Mrs. Velma Anderson, East Moline, Ill., and many other relatives and friends from Wisconsin.

 

Te Former Gertrude Scherer, who resided in this community for the past 38 years, was married at St. Mary’s Church January 22, 1918. Besides her husband, she leaves seven children, Mrs. Fred (Genevieve) Budzesz, Hinsdale, Ill., Frank, Loyal, Bernard, Hales Corners, Mrs. Richard (Helen) Esselman, Greenwood, and Lawrence, James and Loretta, at home; two brothers, George, Loyal, and Matt, Chicago; one sister, Mrs. Albert (Margaret) Larson, Port Byron, Ill., and five grandchildren.

 

Four children, Edward, Joseph, Eleanor and William, and four brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
