Hart, Erma Ann #2 (11 MAR 1897 - 2 JUL 1948)

Mrs. Roy Hart passed away after a short illness of cerebral hemorrhage at St. Joseph’s Hospital, at Marshfield, early Friday morning, at the age of 51 years.

Funeral services were held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Marshfield at 1:00 o’clock Sunday afternoon, the Rev. G.M. Krueger officiating.  Burial was in the cemetery at Colfax.  Besides relatives from here, quite a number of friends attended the services at Marshfield and Colfax.

Erma Ann Dignin, only daughter of William and Louisa (Adams) Dignin, was born at Humbird (Clark Co., Wis.), March 11, 1897.  She was united in marriage on Jan. 16, 1914, at Fairchild, with Roy A. Hart, also of Humbird, and their home was in this village until 1938, with the exception of a couple of years spent in Newberg, Oregon.  In that year the family moved to Colfax.  Later their home was in Eau Claire, and while there Mrs. Hart united with the Lutheran Church.  Since 1947, their home has been at Ellsworth.

Mrs. Hart is survived by her husband;  three sons, Gerald of Neillsville, Vern of Ellsworth, and Lloyd of Marshfield.  There are seven grandchildren.  Two brothers also survive her, Michael C. Dignin of Gary, Ind., and Jerome L. Dignin of Humbird, and her aunt, Mrs. Minnie Chambers, with whom she made her home most of the time after the death of her mother when she was quite young.  And numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives are mourning her sudden death.  Her parents and one brother, James, preceded her to the Great Beyond.

Many close friendships formed in the years of her girlhood and young womanhood, in this village, have continued since Mrs. Hart has resided elsewhere, although her visits to the old home have been few, but all these join in sympathy to those who mourn her death.
