Frank D. Coryell Dies at Age of 80

Frank D. Coryell, 80, died suddenly of a heart attack at his home in Loyal, Monday morning. He had suffered a slight stroke in July, from which he had apparently recovered.

He was born in Rock County, April 18, 1876. He was married to Edith Good in Janesville, November 20, 1901. She died November 6, 1913.   August 17, 1919, Mr. Coryell was married to Mrs. Emma Ludwig.

After living in Rock County for many years he moved to Edgar where he resided for two years before moving, in 1919, to a farm just west of the city of Loyal. Eighteen years ago he retired and purchased a home in Loyal where he has since resided. In earlier years he worked as a butter-maker as well as farmer.

While on the farm, he served the township of Loyal as assessor.

He was a member of the Methodist Church and of the Modern Woodmen of America.  He was also a veteran of the Spanish American War. Military rites will be performed at the funeral services which will be held in the Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Virgil Holmes, pastor of the Neillsville Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Loyal cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Myre Funeral home until Friday noon when it will be taken to the church.

The deceased is survived by his wife; five daughters, Mrs. John (Marion) Warosh, Edgar, Mrs. Russell (Marie) Mellien, and Mrs. Gordon (Myrtle) Fremming, Tucson, Arizona; Mrs. Eva Jensen, Chicago; and Mrs. Frank (Dorothy) Newell, Burlington; one step-son, William Ludwig, Barrington, Illinois, one siser, Mrs. Ella Brinkman, Watertown; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
