School Notes (4 March 1910)

 

A special meeting of the Literary Society was called last Friday.  The officers were: president, Pearle Brooks; vice president, Lloyd Kimball; secretary, Shirley Knorr; marshal, Frank Wood. The next regular meeting will be held next Friday.

 

The botany class is studying the shape and branching of the different trees.

 

The girls in the Intermediate room gave a spread in the library last Friday.

 

The fifth and sixth grades had a contest in calculation last week.  It resulted 8 to 2 in favor of the sixth grade.

 

Mrs. Roberts taught in the primary last Wednesday during Mrs. Mac Bride’s absence.

 

The upper department wrote on examinations this week Wednesday.

 

The ninth grade has finished reading "Merchant of Venice."  The tenth grade is now reading it.
