Many sympathizing friends attended the funeral services at St. John’s Church Tuesday afternoon.   Pastor Hohmann’s sermon subject for this sorrowful time was, "For Words for this Hour" - the promise of Jesus, the comfort of God, the lessons of the tragedy, and the transcendent wisdom of God.  Mrs. Waters and Mrs. Smith sang, with Mrs. Hohmann accompanist, "Take Thou My Hand," "Near the Cross," and "He Leadeth Me."  Pallbearers were Earl Smith, Robert Kutchera, Louis Greub, Bennie Larson, Herbert Hahn, Norman Mayer.  Many beautiful flowers expressed the sympathy of the community to the family in their sorrow.  School was closed, that his classmates could attend the services, and also many business places were close.  Burial was in Mentor Cemetery.
