Kuehmichel, Ruth (01 JULY 1928-16 JULY 2011)

Ruth Kuehmichel, 83, Marshfield, died on Saturday, July 16, 2011. Visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m., on July 30, at the Spencer United Methodist Church, with a memorial service to begin at 11 a.m.

Ruth Mandel was born on July 1, 1928, to Alfred and Lena Mandel, who operated the Stony Creek Cheese Factory of Loyal. She married Harold Kuchmichel, and they reared their family in Marshfield, where she spent most of her life. She completed her GED in 1983, wrote songs and poetry with published pieces, published a book of poems, and nearly completed a second book. She enjoyed Bible studies, creating glass ornaments, square and ballroom dancing, volunteering at St. Vincent DePaul, soliciting clothing for Hand of Mercy Ministries for Romania, taking trips to see the beauty of the U. S. and visiting and helping her growing family.

Survivors include her children, Darcy, Clarence (Mary Agnes), Brian (Maria) Blaine (Mary), Randall (Cynthia), Aaron (Ann), Gregory, Keith (Carla), Dana, Sherri (Jon Buther, and Pamela Chad Hug); 29 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and her special friend, Dave Goetsch.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Harold Kuehmichel and Clarence Masanz; a brother, David; and two sisters, Grace and Elfreda (Carpenter).
