White, Marion (28 APR 1890-06 OCT 1956)

 

After an illness of over a year, death came to Mrs. Herbert White, 66, at 2:30 p.m. Sat. Oct. 6, in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, where she had been taken the day before.

 

Marion Julia Albright was born in Spokeville, a few miles S. E. of Loyal, April 28, 1890. She received her education in the rural schools of this vicinity and was a graduate of Loyal High School. She also attended college at Stevens Point for a short time. For two years she taught in rural schools near here.

 

She was married to Herbert White in Loyal Methodist church, Nov. 6, 1912. After a few years on a rented farm they purchased a farm in the Lyons School District, S.W. of Loyal, where they lived for 20 years. They moved into the city in 1948.

 

She was a member of the Loyal Methodist Church and served as a president of the W.S.C.S., and taught a class in Sunday School for many years.

 

She was also a member of Iris Chapter, O.E.S. and Hope Camp, R.N.A., and served both of those organizations as the highest officer as well as in many of the lesser positions.

 

She is survived by her husband and five children, Mrs. Andras (Arlene) Cathey, Weott, Calif., Mrs. Thomas (Eunita) Schiro, Spencer, Mrs, Richard (Elna) Sutter, Sacremento, Calif., George White, Spencer, and Mrs. Harold (Janice) Herdrich, Loyal. One child preceded her in death. Two brothers, Bernard Albright, Fort Bragg, Calif., and Allen Albright, El Cerrito, Calif., and 14 grandchildren also survive. One sister preceded her in death.

 

Funeral services were held in the Methodist Church on Tuesday at 2 p.m. and burial was in the Loyal Cemetery. The Rev. Virgil Holmes of Neillsville officiated.

 

At the funeral of Mrs. Herbert White afternoon the hymns, "Ivory Palaces" and "Near the Cross" were sung by Mrs. Pay Prior, and Mrs. G. W. Nelson with Mrs. Byron Zepplin as organist.

 

Pallbearers were Ray Prior, J. R. Thomas, Edgar Vick, Ruel Stevens, Paul Gravitter, and Reno Herdrich.
