Stillman, Mary (1839 - 12 March 1910)

Mrs. Mary Stillman wife of Dr. W. D. Stillman passed peacefully from her earthly home to that of her Heavenly Father’s last Friday morning.  She had contracted a severe cold a few days previous which meeting such frail bodily strength suddenly terminated her life.  It was with much apprehension her neighbors learned of her illness. Although a patient sufferer from tuberculosis, her condition was such of late that she had fair prospects of conquering that disease for a number of years yet.  The entire community sympathizes with the bereaved husband who for 45 years has been her constant companion and to whom her going makes life most desolate.

Deceased whose maiden name was Mary Fairchild was born in West Windfield, New York, in 1839, and was married to Dr. W. D. Stillman in 1856. After residing in New York State a number of years she moved with her husband to Madison, Wis. and from there the aged couple moved to Granton where through her endearing Christian life and ways she has won the esteem and love of all her associates.  Deceased was 70 years and 6 months of age and leaves besides her husband one sister who resides in California. The remains were taken to Madison last Saturday for burial.
