Mr. and Mrs. Oswald Lien spent New Year’s and Sunday with friends in Stoddard and La Crosse.

 

Mrs. Minnie Chambers is spending a few weeks at the home of her daughter, Mrs. G.N. Crandell in Mondovi.

 

Walter Smith and family went to Neillsville New Year’s for a family fathering at the home of their son Robert.

 

Mrs. Steve Smith and son Melvin spent a couple of days last week with her brother Lawrence Staves and family in Wausau.

 

John Ray of Hixton was a caller at this office last Friday while on the way to Eau Claire to spend New Year’s at the home of his daughter.

 

 A son was born Dec. 11th to Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Laffe at Macksburg, Iowa.  Mrs. L.J. Laffe left Monday night for Macksburg to help take care of the little grandson.  Sheldon is manager of the lumber yard in that city.

 

A Christmas Sunday gathering, report of which we missed last issue, was held at the Newton house.  Present were Mr. and Mrs. Archie Nelson and Mr. and Mrs. Will Rosolack of Eau Claire, and Mr. and Mrs. Thane Joos and family of Alma Center.
