Shaw, Everett C. (19 JUL 1909 - 22 JUN 1988)


Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Loren W. Hickerson at United Church of Christ, June 22, 1988, at 11 a.m. for Everett C. Shaw, 79, of Route 3, Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.).


Mr. Shaw died at Memorial Nursing Home, Neillsville, Sunday, June 19, 1988, at 5:05 p.m., following a lingering illness.


Interment was in the Neillsville City Cemetery, Gale Oldham, Glen Hallie, John Ormond, Wayne Voss, Richard Buchholz and Arnie Buchholz served as pallbearers.  Lori Anding was the soloist and Deon Spangler the organist.


Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, handled arrangements.


Everett C. Shaw was born to Charles L. and Allie (nee Christie) Shaw on July 19, 1909 in the town of Weston, Clark Co.  He received his education in the town of Weston, attending the Christie School.  He worked on his parents’ farm and was also a rural milk hauler for several years.


On June 19, 1929, he and Erline H. Uhlman were married at Neillsville.  After their marriage they farmed in the town of Weston for many years until retiring in 1971. They continued to live on the farm.  For many years he provided transportation for the children in the Christie area to the school.


Survivors include two sons, Ronald of Neillsville and Verlyn of Neillsville; one daughter, Mrs. Gene (Lu Ann) Calkins of Janesville; one brother, Raymond of Marshfield; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his wife on Nov. 19, 1985; his parents; and one daughter, Darlene.
