Christie (24 February 1911)

From the Christie church on Saturday, February 18, the last sad rites of a devoted son and brother, Don Demouth were solemnized in the presence of a large concourse of sorrowing friends.

Mr. and Mrs. Jule Neverman of Neillsville spent Sunday at Will Hannah’s.

Bruce Armitage made a flying trip to the city Friday.

We are glad to report Mrs. Mike Ganser improving.

Bert Gullick and Ed Voigt were callers here Monday.

On Friday evening, Feb. 17, a large number of friends dropped in and surprised Fed Heibel to remind him that he was on that date passing another mile post in life’s journey.  The guests were all prepared with eatables and about midnight a fine supper was served.  The old bachelor took it very well till the crowd departed, when one woman forgot and left her baby with him.  But luck was on Fred’s side for he soon found the owner.

Len Shaw came home Saturday, but returned to Loyal again where he has a force of men under-brushing.

Fred Lavine was a business caller at Neillsville Monday.

Geo. Rude of Neillsville was seen on our streets last week.
