Chili (7 April 1911)

The town ticket as nominated last week was elected without opposition. The weather was not very good, but a larger vote was cast than at the fall election.

L. A. Richert made a business trip to Granton Wednesday.

Emil Bosselman left for Rochester, Minn., last week Thursday where he accepted a position in the hospital.

Mrs. Degener visited at home a few days last week, returning Monday noon.

The business men’s association at their monthly meeting Tuesday night voted to build a sidewalk from L. A. Reichert’s store up to the meat market. This will be done as soon as weather permits.

Easter Sunday evening there will be a program given at the M. E. Church. The Sunday school children will do most of the speaking and singing, while the mixed choir will help with a few songs.

If you need anything in the line of wall paper go to Degener, he will show you a nice line of samples which are a joy to see.  You will surely find something that will suit you.  He also has a Mundt manure-spreader left which will do all that a good up to date easy running spreader will do.

Geo. Simonds who bought the ¼ section joining A. Portz’s farm has built a barn and is building a new house. The neighbors are all helping him get started.

Jack Malamphy has rented the house of Chas. hayed, move in and commenced housekeeping.

School in the Dankemyer district will commence next Monday.

Mrs. Delia Stewart returned from Illinois this week and is staying with Frank Waterman at present.

The Acme binder and mower have come to Chili. Degener keeps them.
