William Sanger won a $10 gold piece as a premium for making the largest cash purchase in one day at the Kestel Bros. store, Marshfield. Evidently Bill believes in home trade.
While looking for eggs in the hay mow, Mrs. Effie Davis found a brand new Winchester rifle which perhaps was left there for some future purpose.
Joe Bird sawed wood for Fred Carpenter last Tuesday.
Miss Grace Albaugh and Sylva Carpenter spent Saturday and Sunday at home.
Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Davis, Mrs. Effie Davis and Magdalene Carpenter attended the masquerade dance at Chili Saturday evening.
John Rollins, Tony Hormick, Hank Gerritts, Fred Dankemyer attended the telephone meeting at Granton, Saturday.
Wellie Davis and Walter Drake were Loyal callers last Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Willie Schrader of Hixton are visiting at the H.A. Knoll home. William, who is an up to date cheesemaker and is only 4 feet 10 inches high, says it is quite inconvenient for him to reach in a vat to work the cheese, so he place a low bench around the vat on which he walks while on his duty. Last fall he shipped cheese to the International Dairy Show at Milwaukee, which scored 95, while the average only scored 94 ½. Willie feels justly proud of his record. He only weighs 115 pounds.
Loyal Jordan sawed wood last Monday. His health is somewhat improved.
