The ground hog saw his shadow, unless he was blind, but winter knows the end is not far off and tries to do the best he knows how.

The monthly directors meeting of the bank was held Monday morning and the annual meeting of the stock holders of the Chili State Bank was held at 2 p.m. the same day in the M.W.A. Hall.  The following were elected directors for the coming year: W.R. Happe, E.R. Behringer, J.P. Kintzele, L.A. Reichert, Anton Hogenson, John Ure and P.N. Christenson.  At the meeting of the directors the old bank officers were re-elected.

John Hutt took the contract of unloading a car of corn for H. Degener, Monday.  He finished Tuesday morning.

Geo. Brown came over from Veefkind and got a load of corn.

Al Snow shipped a car of stock Tuesday morning.

The building of H. Degener’s machine shed was well under way, but on account of snow and cold weather, is at a standstill just at present.  When finished, the building will give better facilities for showing the goods and give his customers a better chance for inspection.

Mrs. Albert Degener went to St. Paul Thursday to meet her sister, Mrs. Max Lange.  She returned Friday night with her and the baby.  Mr. Lange arrived Saturday night and left for Chicago and other points Sunday night.  Max will return some time this week to visit for a week with Mr. and Mrs. A. Degener before he returns to Dickinson where he owns a bakery business.

Wm. Grantwort went west to see his mother, who is quite sick.

Don’t forget the molasses feed at Degener’s.
