Bremer, Bonnie Ann (Marriage - 25 May 1963)

Miss Bonnie Ann Bremer of Loyal, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bud Bremer and LaMonte Johnston of Loyal, exchanged nuptial vows Saturday in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Loyal.  The Rev. Fr. Philip Scherer of Chicago, Ill., a cousin of the bride, performed the double ring ceremony before an altar adorned with bouquets of orchids and white gladioli.

The nuptial high mass was sung by the church choir, and a bouquet of white carnations and red roses was presented to the Virgin Mary.

Mr. Bremer gave his daughter in marriage.  For the occasion she wore a floor-length gown of Chantilly lace, styled with a full hoop skirt of lace-over-taffeta.  Nylon net ruffles featured a front panel and were complete by all-around tiers of lace tulle, edged with iridescent sequins. The Basque waist was fashioned with a jewel-trimmed, modified Sabrina neckline and long, tapered sleeves. A fingertip veil was attached to a tiara crown of simulated miniature pearls and crystal. The bridal bouquet was a cascade arrangement of two lavender orchids surrounded by white feathered carnations and stephanotis.

Miss Judy Zettler of Loyal served as maid of honor. Bridesmaid was Miss Rachel Oestreich of Marshfield; and junior bridesmaid was Brenda Bremer, sister of the bride.

The attendants wore Nile green street length dresses, featuring fully gathered skirts of silk organza with deep hems. Their lace bodices were styled with bateau necklines and three-quarter length sleeves.  Each wore a matching jewel-trimmed crown with a halo veil. Their flowers were arranged in a cascade bouquet styled like the bride’s but composed of gladioli florets surrounded by white feathered carnations and stephanotis.

Roger Feldt of Loyal served as bestman. Groomsman was Brian Johnston, brother of the groom. Vaughn Seeman of Loyal and Roger Scherer of Greenwood were the ushers.

A wedding dinner was served in the church hall, followed by a reception and buffet luncheon at the Bremer home.

The bride is a graduate of Loyal High School, has been employed by an insurance firm in Marshfield.  Mr. Johnston is serving with the Navy at Norfolk, Va., where they will reside.
