Al Snow has been buying hogs for the past two weeks and feeding them in the stock yards with the expectation of getting a corner on hogs.  Glen claims this cause a shortage in Chicago and raised the price.  They are in hopes they will gain what they lost on the dried herring they bought of Ed Tobel 2 weeks ago.

A number of people from here went to Stods Tuesday to attend the dedication of a new church.

John Henning sawed another pile of wood.  He is getting ready for next winter which he says will be a bad one.  He will soon let his whiskers grow for protection from the coming winter.

With a good appetite we are waiting to see if Bill was able to digest the compliments he received, hoping to hear from him by return mail; but be sure and start in easy for we may get cold feet.

The Granton brass band will give a concert and dance at the Chili opera hall Saturday evening, March 8th.
