York Center (12 May 1911)


A special sermon for the parents was given by E. R. Kildow Sunday at the M. E. Church. A large crowd came out to hear it.


There was a barn raising at M. L. Snyder’s last Wednesday.


Ed. Voigt made a trip to Christie one day last week.


Asa Pease is assisting Geo. Mortimer with the farm work.


Will O’Brien and family were Sunday guests at Ted O’Brien’s. 


A baby girl came to gladden the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Rowe last Thursday.  You couldn’t reach Ernest now with a ten foot pole.


There was a shingling bee at Will O’Brien’s one day last week.  His friends and neighbors came out to help him shingle his new house.


Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Mortimer called on Ernest Rowe and wife Sunday afternoon.


Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Campbell were Neillsville callers Monday.


Mr. Emling of Spencer was seen on our streets last week selling silos.


Will Livingston’s team ran away with the plow one day last week.


There was a surprise party given Friday evening at the factory for Mrs. Beecher’s cousin. Although there was not a very large crowd out, the young folks enjoyed themselves very much.  Refreshments were served and all report a fine time.


Richard Free delivered calves to Neillsville Tuesday.


Wm. Rogers will give a series of lectures in the town hall beginning May 9th and continuing until May 25th.
