Penow, Phoebe (? –7 August 1963)
Funeral services were held Sunday from the Methodist Church in Alma Center for Mrs. Walter Penow, who died Wednesday of leukemia in the Krohn Hospital in Black River Falls. The Penow family, of Rockford, Ill., was spending their vacation in the Alma Center and Humbird area when she became ill and entered the hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Penow are former Neillsville residents, having operated a grocery store here a few years ago.
Mrs. Penow, the former Phoebe Patterson, is survived by her husband; two children, a three-year-old daughter and a son, 18 months; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Patterson of Humbird; two brothers, Ben Patterson of Alma Center and Harvey Patterson of Hales Corners; and three sisters, Mrs. Raymond (Lucille) Sheffer of Janesville, and Rena and Janet at home.
