Birtch, Emily Catherine (February 1866 - 14 May 1911)

 

Mrs. J. P. Birtch died suddenly at her home about 10 o’clock Sunday morning, May 14, 1911, in Duluth, Minn., of heart failure and the remains accompanied by her husband arrived here Thurs. morning. The funeral services were read at her mother’s home here that forenoon by Rev. Burrows of the Neillsville M. E. Church.  Interment was made in the Windfall Cemetery beside the body of her maternal grandmother, she who was Mrs. Emily Potter. 

 

Deceased whose maiden name was Emily Catherine Huff was born in Erie, Pa., in February of 1866 and was married here at her mother’s home in April 1905 to J. P. Birtch.  They continued to live here, at Lindsey and Chili until a year ago when they went to Duluth where they have since resided, a congenial, happy pair. She was a good neighbor, a devoted wife, and daughter.  Besides her husband she is survived by her mother, Mrs. Mary Jane Huff; two brothers, Geo. of Seattle, Wash.; Will of Swift Current, Alb., Canada, and two sisters, Ellen, Mrs. Richard Armstrong of Portland, Oregon, and Annie, Mrs. Ralph Hunt of Salt lake City, Utah.
