Pallbearers will be Ron Riedel, Scott Lokken, Eric Elmhorst, Scott Elmhorst, Roger Kadolph and Shane Vaughn. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday, from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Vera Harriet Elmhorst was born on Oct. 19, 1924, in the town of Fremont, Clark County, the daughter of Henry and Martha (Desens) Elmhorst. She grew up on the family farm and received her education at Franklin Grade School, Evangelical Lutheran Parochial School and graduated from Granton High School in 1942. After completing her education, Vera moved to Milwaukee and worked at Cutler Hammer for a short time. She moved back to Marshfield and was employed at Macson Photo.

Vera was united in marriage to Harold C. Lemke on March 23, 1946, at the Granton Evangelical Lutheran Church parsonage. They purchased her husband's family farm near Loyal, and Vera farmed with her husband for 33 years, retiring in 1979 and moving to Marshfield. Her husband, Harold, died on March 31, 2005.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal. Vera had many interests, but especially enjoyed knitting, crocheting and sewed many quilt tops and backs for the church.

Vera will be sadly missed by her four children, Sandra (Robert) Nesvick of Vancouver, Wash., Barbara (George) Richards of Houston, Texas, Thomas (Susan) Lemke of Madison, and Kenneth (Barbara) Lemke of Marshfield; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one sister, Laura (Vernon) Wegner of Minneapolis, Minn.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
