Fred Lichte can be called by telephone since Monday.

 

Mrs. J.M. Tompkins entertained the "T" Club last Friday afternoon.

 

Geo. King came home from Minneapolis Tuesday for a several days visit only.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ray Campbell and baby went to Neillsville Sunday and visited relatives until Tuesday.

 

Mrs. Aug. Schlinsog Sr. is reported as being very ill since Tuesday.

 

Davis and Snow will ship cattle and calves from Lynn and Lindsey next Monday morning, April 21st.

 

Mrs. Chris Guenter is ill and under the doctor’s care since Wednesday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Gust Bergeman and youngest child spent Tuesday at Neillsville.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Campbell of Marshfield came Tuesday to visit relatives here.

 

Chas. and Ed Wiesner have re-rented Mrs. Augusta Riedel’s Lynn land for another year.

 

Herman Kops of Washburn has rented Chas. Lowery’s Washburn farm of 120 acres for this summer.

 

Bert Corey of Susquehanna Co., Pa. is visiting at the John Breese home since last Saturday.  He is a cousin of Mrs. Breese.

 

Philmore Kemmeter owns an Indian motorcycle, purchased of Wilke & Berg.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Crandall, with their little sons, were over Sunday guests of Neillsville rleatives.

 

Mrs. Will Wood of Owen was a guest at the Eugene Crandall home here last Friday.  She continued her trip to Neillsville that evening.

 

Paul Garbush’s baby girl is sick.

 

Mrs. Rice Davis has been very ill with pneumonia since Monday.

 

Gus Ayers made a business trip to Marshfield Monday.

 

Wilson Mallory of Stevens Point spent Sunday here.

 

Chas. Gay of Colby greeted friends at the depot her Wednesday.

 

Mrs. Geo. Hart transacted business at Marshfield on Monday.

 

Miss Pearl Brooks returned to Stevens Point and her studies there on Monday.

 

Fred Williams is spending the week at Stevens Point and Arnett.

 

Grandpa Churchill was quite indisposed through heart trouble again Sunday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schlinsog were over Sunday guests of friends at Neillsville.

 

Mrs. A.J. Knorr attended the oratorical contest at Neillsville last Friday evening.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Kearney Davis were Marshfield visitors on Tuesday.

 

Kearney Davis has plans underway for decidedly improving his residence this spring.

 

Herman Batch and family are moving to the L.E. Moh farm where Herman has employment.

 

Mrs. R. Rath and Miss Hallie Eberhardt were Marshfield visitors Saturday.

 

Albert Bentz came home from Chicago Tuesday night, bringing with him a sister who had been in an asylum near that city.

 

Mrs. Carl Roehl visited Neillsville friends late last week.

 

Mrs. F.J. Baer was engaged with abstract work at the county seat last Friday.

 

Mrs. Dora Garbush, Mrs. Fred Garbush and Mrs. Otto Garbush spent Wednesday at Neillsville.

 

Geo. Huff has employment on a farm near Marshfield since yesterday.

 

Miss Marth Kempin of Fremont is working for Mrs. Clifford Winn.  We got her name Kelpin by error some two weeks since.

 

Ross Paulson left again on Monday for a 10 day horse buying trip in the Dakotas.

 

Willie Lowery sold his part of out-lot 5 in Paulson’s addition, to Rice Davis, two weeks since.

 

Ed Strey Sr. sold his heavy work team to Neillsville parties on Sunday.

 

Ed Strey Sr. and Ira Robbins transacted business at the county seat on Tuesday.

 

The Mesdames Fred Tyler, W.S. Davis and Ed Soles, with the Misses Emma Kimball, Grace Bartz and Nellie Dorst were Neillsville visitors on Tuesday.

 

Dave Garbush bought a heavy horse of Herman Riedel last week.  With this and the new wagon he recently purchased, Dave is well prepared to haul an unusually large amount of milk to Becker’s creamery this summer.

 

Mrs. Laura Brown is keeping house at the H.E. Williams home since Tuesday and Mrs. Williams is visiting at Neillsville.

 

Fred Tompkins of Rice Lake spent a day here with his parents last week.

 

R.B. Salter of Colby was here and at Lynn on Wednesday.

 

Geo. Brooks and Henry Sternitzky transacted business at the county seat on Saturday.

 

Lydia Neinas, a competitor for the silver cracker jar at Tuesday evening’s show, won same by her singing and piano playing.

 

Mrs. D.S. rausch entertained the O.E.S. Birthday Club and a few friends last Saturday.

 

Mrs. A.J. Knorr will entertain the O.E.S. Birthday Club next week Saturday, April 26.  All visiting O.E.S. members are welcome.

 

Mrs. Hattie Beeckler is in a hospital at Chippewa Falls since late last week, and on Saturday underwent a critical surgical operation there.

 

Hale Davis purchased the Aug. Lautenbach shelf hardware business Monday and will conduct same from August’s last place of business.  August remains in the pump, farm implement and machinery business and will return to his old stand near the Neinas warehouse.

 

W.S. Davis purchased the W.W. Page house Saturday and station agent Eugene Crandall will vacate the rooms over the News office and take up residence in Scott’s late purchase, next week.

 

The Gibson Medicine Show Co., after a ten day engagement here, departed for Stratford Wednesday.  They were nice people and made many friends during their stay here.

 

Miss Elizabeth Guk, after a several week visit among relatives in this vicinity, returned to Milwaukee Wednesday.  Arthur Neinas and Edwin Guk, two of her nephews, accompanied her to the city to remain until Monday.

 

Albert Mabie bought the Dave Steele place her in town and took possession the first of the week.  Mr. Steele and family have vacated and moved into their new home on the east side of town, recently purchased of Kearney Davis.

 

Mrs. Leland Davis and daughter Minerva and little Kenneth Hart went to Marshfield Tuesday and made a couple of days visit at the C. Chapel home.

 

Mrs. Fred Reitz of Neillsville spent last Friday afternoon here looking over the prospects for a millinery store.

 

A hand social and old fashioned spelling school will be given at the Brooks School District in the town of Lynn tonight, Friday, April 18.  Everybody is invited.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Beyer of Oregon, after a visit here at Chas Schuelke’s, Herman Thiede’s and various other old friends, returned to Neillsville Saturday.

 

Miss Mathilda Strey, the Mesdames Eugene Crandall, Rush Wentworth, L.G. Morris and John Dietrich spent Saturday morning at Neillsville.

 

The Misses Estelja Shapiro, Frances Shattuck and Elsie Maurer of Medford were over Sunday guests of Miss Lillie Shapiro, and with a bunch of young people, enjoyed a sugar party in the Sid Davis sugar bush.
