Chili (22 June 1911)
A hot wave has been staying with us again for a few days. Corn is growing nicely, that is such as has not been used as a dessert by the cut worms or has been drowned.
H. Koser was in Baraboo on business a few days this week. He has got a good second hand organ for sale.
Don’t forget the grand 4th of July celebration at Chili. It will be worth the while to come if the weather is good.
Dan Cattanach is suffering with tonsillitis and has to stay in bed.
O. F. Walter of Town Grant with his daughter, Mrs. Degener and grandchild Vivian were over from Sat. to Sun.
Mrs. Kate Bladl of Granton visited with her parents on Wednesday.
Clark Waterman and Teddy Oelinger had an early start Wednesday. They drove out with a complete pump to John Duffy, at sun-up and were back before breakfast. Ted said when he got in sight of his father’s house and saw that black and white cat, "Why there is the same old cat that was here when I left."
John Lindow has set the town paver to work improving and grading up the streets of the village. The dirt is taken from the right of way of the railroad. The ground will be low enough after this, so that area can be planted with trees this fall.
L. A. Reichert was a Granton business caller Monday.
Acme binders and mowers here on the market, at Degener’s; come in and look them over
