Winiarczyk, Joseph (13 DEC 1887 - 14 JUL 1959)

 

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Leon Dobrzanski at St. Mary’s National Catholic Church at Lublin at ten o’clock, Friday morning, July 17, 1959, for Joe Winiarczyk, who died Tuesday afternoon, July 14th, 1959 at the Stanley hospital following surgery from injuries received in a head on auto collision five miles north of Thorp the same day.  He had reached the age of 71 years and one day.

 

The deceased was born in Zaruosz, Lublin, Poland on Dec. 13, 1887.  He came to the United States in 1913 and on July 27, 1914 was united in marriage to Agnes Olejniczak at St. Stanislaus Church at Lublin, Wis.

 

He was a former tavern owner and farmer, having retired several years ago, but still resided on the farm in the Town of Roosevelt, Taylor County.

 

Besides his widow he is survived by one son, Frank Winiarczyk of Thorp; one daughter, Mrs. Lottie Pletka of Thorp; two brothers, Mike of Bloomfield, N.J., and John in Poland; one sister, Agnes Szypula in Poland, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

 

Burial was made in St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery.  Pallbearers were George Zwiac, Frank Kusak, Joe Bonczkiewicz, Val Pliska, tony Orbycki and Louis Stokosa.

 

Out of town friends and relatives who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Don Danielson, Kenosha, Wis., Steve Figura, Colfax, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. F. Furmanek, Gilman, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Alex Gabrys, Louis Carpenter Jr., Roger Deutschlander, Martha Olejniczak, Ann Olejniczak, Mrs. Mae Ochab and Mr. and Mrs. G.A. Weseman, all of Chicago, and others from Thorp, Lublin, Stanley and Gilman.
